Altera has a new free plan for new stores: Starter. It’s made for small fixes, and for testing your files before a large import. If your store is on the Community plan, nothing changes for you.
What’s New#
- Starter plan - imports and exports up to 10 items of each data type per job, for free, with every data type and file format (Starter plan).
- Items, not rows - the limit counts items, so a product with all its variants is one item.
- AI tools on Starter - Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients can run up to 10 imports and exports per day.
Improvements#
- Each data type on its own - a file with 15 products and 15 orders now imports 10 of each.
- Clearer results - the job page shows how many items were processed, for example “10 of 15 products imported”.
- Upgrade from the banner - limit banners on the export, import, and job pages have an Upgrade to Pro button.
Heads-up#
- Community plan - stores already on the Community plan keep it, with 100 items of each data type per job. New stores can’t select it.
- Pro plan - still $15 a month, with no item limit, scheduled jobs, and CLI access (pricing plans).
