Unit prices are easier to work with in this update. The columns have clearer names, you can change one value without retyping the others, and your Google Shopping feed picks up unit pricing on its own.
What’s New#
- Variant Unit Price column - product exports show the price per base measure that Shopify calculates, for example
17.90per kg (Variant Unit Price). - Google Shopping unit pricing - the feed fills
unit_pricing_measureandunit_pricing_base_measurefrom your unit prices, for example500gand1kg.
Improvements#
- Change one value - import only the column you want to change, and the other unit price values stay as they are (import rules).
- Row-level checks - an unknown unit now fails only its own row, not the whole file.
Heads-up#
- New column names - the unit price columns are now
Variant Unit Price: Total Measure Value,Total Measure Unit,Base Measure Value, andBase Measure Unit, also in saved and scheduled exports. - Old names still import - files with
Unit Price Total Measureand the other old headers import as before, but update any tool that reads exported headers. - Lowercase units - exports write units in lowercase, such as
gandkg; imports accept any case. - Removing a unit price - leave all four measure cells blank to remove it; a
0value now reports an error for that row instead (how-to guide). - JSON column - the old JSON format in
Variant Unit Pricestill imports, but exports no longer include it.
