Removing a SKU used to require editing each variant by hand, because blank **Variant SKU** cells were skipped during imports. Now a blank cell clears the SKU, so you can remove SKUs in bulk the same way you already clear compare-at prices and costs.

### Improvements

- **Blank cells clear SKUs** - leaving a **Variant SKU** cell blank when updating a product removes that variant's existing SKU.
- **Creates unaffected** - new products and variants with blank SKU cells are simply created without a SKU, as before.

### Heads-up

- If your update files include a **Variant SKU** column with blank cells, those SKUs will now be cleared instead of left unchanged. Remove the column from your file to leave SKUs untouched.

This only applies when the variant is matched by another identifier like **Variant ID** or option values. See the [product fields reference](https://support.getaltera.com/en/articles/11490229-product-fields) for details.
