Converting a plain text product option (like “Color”) to a linked metaobject option no longer requires starting from scratch.
Improvements#
- Option conversion - Existing product options can now be converted to linked metaobject options in-place, preserving all variant IDs.
- Multi-variant support - Conversion now works on products with any number of variants, not just single-variant “Default Title” products.
- New option values - Option values from your import file that don’t already exist on the product are added automatically during conversion.
Fixes#
- Clearer error messages - When a conversion fails because of missing metaobject entries, the error now lists exactly which values couldn’t be matched (PRD044).
- Category hint - The error for unlinkable options now suggests setting the Type column in your import file.
